Grassroots mutual aid group, redistributing resources and providing support to trans and nonbinary people in Greater Manchester, UK.

Trans Mutual Aid Manchester seeks to empower our trans community in Greater Manchester to decrease reliance on state institutions for our care and safety (e.g. The GIC clinic, welfare systems, police powers etc.)

The specific methods with which we are pursuing these aims are:

• Specifying that only trans & nonbinary people are involved with our organising group. Cis people are encouraged to support in other ways (such as: help with our social media graphics, transporting clothes for our in person events etc).

• Helping trans people share non financial resources with each other so that everyone has what they need.

• Sharing knowledge and skills through skillshares and workshops, sharing information and building community knowledge.

• Organising social spaces for trans people to build caring networks.

• Redistributing money and providing material support to the trans community.

• Making connections with and providing support to trans people who are incarcerated.

• Supporting and working with like minded projects and groups, building connected networks of mutual aid.
